up to the light, of which there was not much in the blackened room.
It was a transfer of ownership for this property, to Poli Cede
Partment.
“The suspects have abandoned the premises,” Spada said into the
phone. But the reception was bad and so he walked outside. After
banging his head badly on the low doorway and cursing the pain he
emerged out into the light of the alley. Holding a tattered group
photograph that had been stuck to the wall inside, he described to the
officer what the culprits looked like. Mohawks and shaved heads, lots
of torn clothes and piercings.
“Yeah, that pretty much matches the description of the kid,” the
officer on the other line said. But his clothes had been blackened and
torn from the explosion and his wig had been blown off. It didn’t

4. Walpurgis Night Two
The Undergrounds crew and the Martians were released on bail,
which meant they had to sign over the gym as collateral. But at least
they were free. Returning to the vandalized building, they were
immediately confronted with an angry crowd of protesters. They
recognized Sprout as the spokesperson for the group and directed
their fury primarily at her. They were angry not only for the reckless
disregard of human life, but also because suddenly they were not able
to buy a good cup of coffee for fear of being blown up.
The crowd started heckling the exhausted innocents, and it
might have turned ugly had Sprout not done something very peculiar
to defuse the burgeoning conflict. She started to sing. No one had
heard her singing voice before.
Like broken teapot pieces.

We’d better stick together
If we want to drink some more.
