told you in his lectures, power leads to corruption. Slowly, he became
lost in the adoration of his followers, and started to think that his
purpose was more than just to teach. He saw the earth becoming
corrupt, with the spread of atomic weapons, disease, the destruction
of the environment, all that. He became convinced that the powers of
good were losing and that soon a point would be reached where all
would perish. It was then that he decided he would have to be the one
to lead the world to safety.
“It was then that we started to split. I was the Omniraja’s right-
hand man, and I was the one who spent the most time with him, so
it was I who was the first to notice when the first signs of his madness
became obvious.
“He started to speak with great words about the need to destroy
all the toxins in the world, about the fact that this technology
disrupting the earth could only be stopped by turning its power
against it, and that something drastic would need to be done. I
became frightened, and explained that nature had a way of regulating
itself, that man would learn from his mistakes, that he would soon
turn his technology to rebuilding the earth. But he insisted that man
no longer controls technology, that technology controls man, and
must be destroyed before it is too late. I tried to object, but he would
not listen.
“Then, one day I came to his office and found him inhaling a gas
from a tank. Publicly, he had preached the uselessness of recreational
drugs in the pursuit of wisdom, but now I saw him completely
incoherent, laughing like an infant. I inquired as to what he was
doing but he didn’t even recognize me. When I returned later, he
insisted that he needed the gas to help calm him, to think clearly. I
became very worried and had the tanks removed. The next day I was
informed that I was fired and was not to enter the Omniraja’s office
without an appointment.
“Shocked, I went to his office immediately and demanded
explanations. He said that my thinking was old and that the new
world called for a stronger hand. My job had been taken over by the
head of security agent. I was also told that if I wanted to stay on the
ashram I would have to obey all orders. My first order was to be
silent.
“At first I said nothing, but when it became clear that the
Omniraja was becoming dangerous, I fled the ashram and adopted a
new name. We have been working to get people on the inside, but it
